Introducing....

He made it like a champion. Born March 13th at 7:54 a.m. weighing a staggering 6 lbs 10 oz. and a height of 19 inches....Mr. Cru Emil! I'll have something more clever to say when my brain returns. I figured I should get a few pics out.
Close up

Beef cake huh?

Right after all the hard work. I don't look as good as Natalie though...

Now batting....

It is going to be Mack's 21st birthday on the 24th so we took a pic with this sign to send him. I am posting it here to A) get people off my back about a belly picture and B) I thoroughly enjoy Zac's face and the fact he placed Jaitz on his shoulder.

36 weeks what?

Olympics

Zac and I have really gotten into the olympics this winter for some reason. I blame it on the economy. We have realized during the duration of the 2010 winter olympics that we like to, let's say, make observations of people, jerseys, facial expressions, costumes, and the announcers. It really makes it entertaining to make one of these said observations, and then have the other one laugh in approval. We realize yes, we may be a bit mean and yes, we have admitted it, but sometimes these athletes are begging for a ripe poke of harmless fun.

The one thing I feel bad about is when we secretly want someone to explode down a ski hill or on the ice. The other day we were watching women's downhill skiing and I don't think I have seen that many wipeouts in thirty minutes. I didn't feel too bad because everyone got up of their own accord and were fine. If they were really hurt, then I might feel a bit bad. The great thing about DVR is that we get to A)skip the crap we can't handle (why did they broadcast Russia vs. Czechoslovakia hockey....we live in AMERICA) and B) we get to rewind all the wrecks and watch them in super slow motion.

We were watching snowboard cross when this beast of a man kept entering all the frames of the camera before the snowboarders started their race. He was yelling and whooping and hollering and was wearing a USA sweatshirt. His name: Pete Lavin. His title: no one is quite sure...possibly the pump up man for the USA ski/snowboard teams. Then making a great observation, Zac says "Will Ferrell really needs to do a parody of this guy."

This Pete Lavin guy reminds me of the sketch Will did on SNL called "Get off the Shed". Check it out. I would post a video of Pete but there weren't any. Trust me, he is Will Ferrell in this sketch.

It is the little things like this that have kept me entertained with my guy Zac. We have heaps of fun together, even if it is rewinding the clip of the dude that chucked his partner onto the ice during ice dance.

I'm Bored but Busy?

Here is the deal. I get it. "Oh you are going to never sleep when you have a newborn! Oh cherish this time you have right now! Oh I know everything!" This is what I have been hearing lately about child rearing. I know there are far more experienced people out there and for the most part I appreciate some tips and tools. This is what I don't appreciate. When people tell me exactly how it is going to be and how I need to do this now or enjoy this now because it will forever be gone. Really? Are you sure? Prove it. The thing is about these people that are telling me exactly how it is going to be....well these people are usually strangers I don't even know! My friends and family have been quite positive about the whole raising kids thing and it's these weirdo's in the costume shop (yes I live right next door to it and I needed to buy a fake mustache) or the checkout clerk at the grocery store that like to tell me everything I will be missing. And then they think just because I have this enlarged stomach they can waddle on over and touch it. I don't touch your enlarged stomach, why touch mine? Why people I don't know....Why. And just save your breath about your delivery. I don't want to know nor do I care what position you birthed your child from.

I have enjoyed being pregnant. I got my mom's genes where she said and I quote "I could've had babies for the whole neighborhood!" I've had it relatively easy and I am grateful for that so thanks mom! I have been out of work now for a bit and I am going a little stir crazy. I have had things to do don't get me wrong but I have missed that schedule that my organizational side has been begging for. I am going to get to work from home doing research for a contractor. He was suppose to be real busy in January but the company he works for had things pushed back until....you guessed it...April (when I will have a new squirming chow in my arms). So I was anticipating being pretty busy up until the big day but alas, things aren't going to get busy for a little bit. It's all good don't get me wrong but when those 'know it all strangers' are telling me to enjoy my time I want to poke them in the eye. I am truly looking forward to sleepless nights, poopy pants, nap time for me during the day, and what the crap do I do feelings. It may sound weird but so does the word "apricot". Say it ten or more times slowly and you'll know what I mean.

In other news, Zac is pretty bummed lately. Well, only when he turns on Sports Center. The football season is mostly over and now we are stuck watching NBA and hockey highlights and he gets so sad about it. Other than the Sports Center dilemma, he is a really happy guy and is pumped to be a dad. He keeps telling the baby...or my stomach...to bat left golf right and throw left. I am so excited for Easter this year for one reason-Carmel Cadbury Eggs. I have been dreaming about them lately. One time in college, Zac and I were going to catch the shuttle together and I was eating my afternoon Carmel Cadbury Egg and I saw Zac eye balling it. I knew what his plan was (he isn't a sweets fan so I knew his plan was to slap it out of my hands). Just as he got that half smile on his face, I jerked the egg away from him and shoved the rest of it into my mouth-which was about 3/4ths of it. Good thing I have a big mouth. He swiped for it but missed as I jammed it into my face. He has vowed to someday slap a Carmel Cadbury Egg out of my hands since that day and I have thwarted him every year. He probably has forgotten that but now that I blogged about it, he will be after me again this year. I shall be ready...he has to be careful though because now I may have a child in my arms. YES!!!!

I'll only eat Tostitos chips from now on.

There are few things that can really get me to feel like a kid on Christmas Eve night anymore. I had one of those experiences here this past week. Zac and I were so very fortunate to get to go to the Fiesta Bowl to watch our Boise State Broncos play. I was going to be ticked if we didn't get to go since the stadium is 40 minutes from our place. We were very blessed to be able to get this chance because of some too generous family members. This was seriously THE best live game I have ever been to so thanks family.

Our seats were in the BSU endzone and while viewing might not have been optimal for the whole game, the atmosphere blew it out of the water. We got to sit by Stan, Jen, Ryan, and Jackson (and a bunch of Stan's friends) so it was WAY fun to be by people we knew and we could high five like high fives were going out of style. The game was INTENSE pretty much the whole time. I was just hoping I wouldn't go into early labor because of the stress and the fact that I felt I was in a mosh pit sometimes-plus I wasn't about to leave that game early. Here is a view.

Our fans blew TCU's out of the water. There was definitely more orange and blue and we were so flipping loud on defense! Everyone's voice was shot after the first quarter-it was amazing. As we all know the game went down to the last seconds and when BSU intercepted the ball with seconds left everyone flipped out. People started jumping on the chairs, shaking each others shoulders, one couple by us started making out-it was like nothing I have ever experienced before.
Stan and Jen stayed with us and were able to stay for a few extra days which was SO much fun. It was so much fun to talk bronco football with others. We also saw a bunch of people from Boise at the game including Zac's old optimist football coach, his 3rd grade teacher (who happens to be the offensive MVP's mom), our old first counselor from the student ward and some of Zac's old co-workers/my brothers friends. It was seriously the best game ever!

Cinco de Mustache

It is the fifth of Mustache. The one band I was in for about three weeks was named Cinco de Mustache. We rocked. We did have a really sweet song that never materialized but would have blown your mind. The purpose of this post is strictly to talk about mustaches. What in the world is a mustache for I oft wonder. And why can some guys (and women for that matter) grow wicked mustaches and other guys just have little whispy ones? There are few times when I feel a mustache is okay and they are the following: When one has a beard, a mustache is a must. Have you ever seen a beard without a mustache? Creepy. When one has a goatee, a mustache is acceptable. This one is a little tricky. I feel this is most acceptable when the mustache and the goatee connect. If you can't grow facial hair between the section of your lips and chin, get rid of that mustache. For example: the guy from the Backstreet Boys. You gotta shave that stache as well as the soul patch.
Get it?

The only other exceptions are if you are known for your mustache, i.e. Geraldo Rivera, Alex Trebek circa 1970-1997ish, Jamie Hyneman from Mythbusters, and the infamous Bert Reynolds of course. That means if you are famous and start out famous with a mustache, you can keep it. Now if you are famous and then grow a mustache? It better be for a movie role and that thing better be going after the movie is done. The only other exception is Zac's uncle Fred.

What kills me is the rule of the mustache on the campus of BYU. Most religious schools, regardless of the religion, tend to have rules regarding dress and appearance. Whether it is a private high school or a religious college, rules are made and kept or you get sever lashings....well, not lashings, but possibly some sort of ticket. I'm not sure, I've only ever gone to public schools. But there is a rule at the institution that is BYU where you cannot have any facial hair except mustaches. Really? The mustache? No goatee or the nicley furnished side burns but a mustache? I have always found it to be quite hilarious to say the least since I feel the mustache is the sickest of all facial hairs (unless accompanied by the beard or connected goatee of course). Or if you look like this guy.
But that is just amazing. Plus I think he is a rebel soldier from the south that is re-enacting a southern civil war battle=Acceptable. I'd like to see any BYU student pull that off.

I feel like this is the way many women feel about the mustache. Maybe I'm wrong but have you ever kissed a guy with a mustache? No, I am not wrong. I am right. So this last month Zac and his brothers (after reading yet another blog entry from the wonderful Mark Titus-Club Trillion on the left side) decided to take the "Movember" challenge and grow out their mustaches for the month of November. I'm not going to go into it and if you really want to know about Movember, read the post. Basically, Nick wussed out after a week of mustache growth, Jake couldn't handle his Jake Plummer stache and shaved on Thanksgiving, and well Mack....he is somewhere in the Ukraine so he couldn't participate. That left Zac. He being the oldest and probably the most stubborn grew out his mustache until the final day in November. He did have his goatee to go with it (minus the connecting hair...I called him backstreet boy) so it wasn't that bad. The last few days of November, Zac decided to shave his goatee and go strictly mustache. This is the result.
I made him put on his aviators so he would look like a cop from the 70's.

I didn't think he looked bad but I could NOT take him seriously. If we even got onto a serious discussion I would just start giggling. I was quite entertained with the whole process and I must report that Zac does not like the mustache. The day of Nov. 30th he stood up in a huff and yelled "I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE!" and ran to the bathroom and shaved his mustache. It was a good time but I am glad that I can now give him a big smooch and not get my teeth flossed. I was just glad he didn't become famous in that month or that mustache would have had to stay on him until he became as infamous as Trebek-because once you become infamous, that mustache can be shaved.

I like boys, and now I think I'm ready to bust a move...

Check it out I'm rockin steady (that was for you Holly...and then I high kicked my leg in the air real quick).

First off I must give a blog thank you to my buddy Gina. She is so wise beyond her years. You see my dear Gina is a nurse and also a mother and has picked up good info along the way. She told me to make sure and drink a Coke or other caffeinated beverage before going into my 20 week ultrasound so that kid would be wound up. Before the ultrasound we stopped at good ol' McDonalds because all I've wanted for the past five months is a dang McDonald's Coke. It tastes better than any other Coke out there...the closest matching Coke I have found would have to be Mongolian BBQ but alas it is still a second place. I have decided to avoid the caffeine whilst impregnated because honestly that crap isn't good for you. So deliciously not good for you. Needless to say, after getting this tid bit of info from Gina, it had me counting down the days until I got my Coke. A few weeks prior to the u.s. I was chowing down on some McDonald fries and won a free small coke with the whole Monopoly game deal. I clasped the winning game piece in my small paw and then tucked it safely into Lois (my hand bag/satchel/or what you women folk call purse) saving it for that momentous day. So on 11/11 before the doctors office arrived, I was able to stop into the place that had been calling my name for so long. It hasn't helped either that any size pop is only a buck. WHAT!?!? Sprite is only good for so long. And a large orange drink will have you swallowing for hours after with that whole sugar tounge/throat feel. You know what I mean.

So I downed my Coke and then headed into the ultrasound room. The tech kept saying how she couldn't belive how much that thing was moving around. It's a pretty bizzar thing to see your kid rolling around on the screen in front of you and not really being able to feel it. The tech kept doing her measuring and clicking of the computer keys and then we saw it...Zac and I both realized that the baby we were checking out on that screen was in fact a boy. Hooray! The tech confirmed our hypothesis and we now know we are having a boy. So there you go. Here are some pics of the little guy:
He's looking a you.
Sucking his thumb.
This is for Heather. Just for you sssssssss. Now I must wait another four months for another delicious McDonald's Coke. Thanks to Gina though because that boy was moving around more than a cat with yarn on it's tail (I've done it...trust me, the cat moves).
